We love New York. So much so that we even carry its name in our brand. It was in this city that we discovered granola and its streets inspired us to "Mediterraneanize" this product so typical of New York. New York is the germ of the seed of what today is our great passion:
granola La Newyorkina.
That's why, whenever we have the opportunity, we encourage you to visit the Big Apple. But before you visit it and walk along its asphalt discovering all its nooks and crannies, you will have to do one thing: apply for the ESTA. Today we are going to explain what it is and how to apply and process it so that you do not have any setbacks.
First of all, what is ESTA?
Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is, as its name suggests, an online electronic authorization system through which anyone who wants to travel to the U.S. applies for permission to enter the country. It is, quite simply, a
travel authorization. But be careful, without this procedure, you will not be able to pass pass passport control in the destination city.
If you are traveling to New York for less than 90 days, which is a vacation, and you do not have a visitor's visa, you must apply for ESTA.
The best way to apply for ESTA is to do so is to do the following
through the official website. You will need your contact information, a valid passport and a credit card to pay the fee ($14). Major credit cards accepted are: VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Debit cards accepted are VISA and MasterCard. Payment can also be made via PayPal.
The approximate time to fill out this application is about twenty minutes, it is processed instantly and you can print it on the spot to take it along with your passport at the time of travel.
The ESTA application data remains active for two years (or until your passport expires, whichever comes first). This means that if you are lucky enough to travel to New York again within two years, you will not need to reapply for ESTA. The good thing is that the system itself notifies you, by e-mail, that your ESTA is about to expire in case you need to renew it.
Tip,
do not leave the processing to the last minute. Although it is usually automatic, they have a maximum of 72 hours to approve your application. If you are traveling in a group, we recommend that you apply jointly.
The ESTA is an approved travel authorization, i.e. it is
not the same as a visa. It does not meet the legal requirements to replace a visa.
As you can see, it is not a complicated process and it is easily done through a website.
Are you traveling to New York soon? We would love that, when you return, you leave us a comment telling us what you liked the most, impressed, amazed... We want to know your opinion!
And while you're preparing for your trip to New York, we recommend that you prepare a tasty
recipe with granola to enjoy the preparations twice as much. ;)
