Recipe: granola with yoghurt and blueberries

by La Newyorkina
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day". Breakfast like a king, eat like a prince and dine like a pauper" are two of the most frequently heard statements about the first meal of the day. You will have heard it from your mother, your grandmother, your doctor or a nutritionist on television. To tell the truth, and in spite of the champions of breakfast, there is also a trend that argues that this meal is just as important as any of the other four meals we should eat each day. Whether it's myth or reality that breakfast is supreme, you should never skip it. It's the meal that breaks our fast after an all-nighter and charges us with energy to start the morning. As for me, I'm one of those people who can't react until I've eaten some food (anyone else in the room?) so whether it's the most important meal or not, I don't skip it for a day! Enjoying breakfast is one of the basic principles of the La Newyorkina team's lifestyle. No one should start the day with a drunk coffee, what kind of sacrilege is that? We want you to #enjoybreakfast become one of your mantras and, as movement is demonstrated by walking, we'll start by giving you an easy and irresistible recipe that will radically change your mornings: La Newyorkina granola with yoghurt and blueberries. The good thing about this recipe? You don't need to be a great chef. The best thing? The amount of energy and benefits you're giving your body (plus the good vibes, of course). granola-newyorkina-recipe What ingredients will you need? To make the puree, cook the blueberries in a bain-marie for about 3 minutes until soft. Then mash them in a potato masher and, if necessary, add water until the puree has the texture and thickness you are looking for. Now you've done this, you can take the bowl and start forming the layers of your delicious breakfast. A spoonful of La Newyorkina granola, Greek yoghurt, the cranberry puree, another layer of yoghurt, another spoonful of granola and, to finish off (and garnish), some blueberries. Easy, isn't it? And you were missing out... At La Newyorkina we are big fans of blueberries.. We love red berries and have a real weakness for blue berries. Our original granola includes this berry among its ingredients and, whenever we can, we add it to our recipes. Blueberries are a powerful antioxidant capable of neutralising free radicals in our body. They are also rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Potassium and Fibre. The consumption of blueberries improves circulation and prevents cardiovascular diseases, helps to eliminate liquids and to protect the organism against viral diseases. These are just some of the benefits that both cranberries and blueberries share. But how do they differ? Basically in their taste. While cranberries are much more tart, blueberries are sweeter and milder. Both share many properties, but if we had to highlight a difference, we would say that cranberry is especially recommended for fighting infections, especially cystitis. On the other hand, if you have vision problems or poor blood circulation, we recommend the blue one. As you can see, the recipe we propose is not only very tasty but also really healthy for your body. We want you to join our pro-breakfast movement. so, we invite you to share on Instagram your breakfasts made with La Newyorkina granola, along with the hashtag #enjoybreakfastWill you join us?
